Which way was that again?

It’s a good thing they put that sign on the end cap, otherwise I might not have realized this was where Hobby Lobby keeps the arrows.

But what if this confuses people? The arrows are all kind of pointing in the same direction. A customer could reasonably infer that the arrows are on the back wall of the store. Shouldn’t the arrows all be pointing to the arrow sign? Or each other?

Or was there a larger stash in the back? A better stash? More colorful and will more textures and features?

We could make jokes about this, and arrow jokes are trending up these days, of course, but it is possible, but I didn’t walk through every aisle.

Today’s personalized cufflinks:

Two more I made. If I find enough playful buttons to convert into cufflinks I might find one for every shirt in the closet. The shirts are tucked in next to the arrows.

I am serious about being casual

Today I decided to rock the fox cufflinks:

I have some cufflinks, of course, and I’ve settled on my preferred style. These are close to them, and I made them. It’s simply an oversized button, a few links of chain and a smaller button. Open the outside links of the chain, feed them through the clasp, close the loops up and there you go. Now, the smaller button is on the inside, and you can feed it through all of the french cuff button holes. The bigger button won’t pass through and so the cuff is sure to be held together. Plus, in this case, that’s a colorful cufflink!

So I’m wearing cufflinks, but they are silly.

Student television:

And television at home, as we head into the weekend:

We’re watching all of the episodes as a ramp up to the final season of Game of Thrones. Six episodes each weekend until the final shows. It’s about to get painful.

Another television show thing:

It’s going to snow this weekend. Because that’s what March is for, I guess.

Free lunches taste better

Had lunch here on a gift card thanks to the kindness of a colleague.

I had the chance to use a little Spanish and a few of the phrases I remember from German and Italian as well, and all for no particular reason. Top that, rest of the day.

The rest of the day could not top that. It tried, of course. It was a game effort, but really.

I ran a 10K this evening. It was chilly, sure, but not so cold that I could stay inside:

Probably I was just after this:

Not that I can talk about mileage …

You, too, can be a dance hall DJ

I promised you Presidents Hall yesterday. Here is Presidents Hall:

And the view from the front of the room:

Eighteen presidential portraits are on the walls. There’s enough room for a few more presidents. I wonder what they’ll do in 20 or 40 years when they run out of wall space. Anyway, all manner of events — learned expert presentations, luncheons, weddings and, this spring, the nursing school will have graduation ceremonies in there.

Some videos our students are making. This is a late night show. Dry, college humor, unaware central player. It’s a classic formula:

And when you are finished with the season premiere of Not Too Late, there’s also the most recent episode of the Bloomington Breakfast Club. You, too, can learn how to be a DJ:

The setup seemed the hardest part. It was a substantial load-in. And, she said, she spends almost all of her time and money in record stores. Right after tearing her gear down after this interview the DJ, who is a local, was leaving town for a cruise with Kesha. No big deal.

I wish I was going on a cruise. Tampa to the Bahamas in February? That’s not the worst choice one could make.
