They produced 158 episodes of scripted TV ranging from news to sports to entertainment. They covered a weekend-long program covering the huge dance marathon fundraiser. A freshman won a statewide anchor award. The morning show won a statewide award for best show. Two of our underclassmen were nominated for big SPJ awards. The sports crew swept the SPJ Indy sports reporting category. We had three directors nominated for awards at a film festival, and another student won a film festival prize for best supporting performance.
It was a good year.
We’re back in Bloomington. The race was Saturday. We all recovered a bit on Sunday. The recovery continued through an arduous return to the crossroads. We had a crew exchange problem during a layover in Minnesota. We stayed there longer than it would have taken to rent a car and drive down to our car. So we sat in airports a lot, big deal.
Anyway, on Sunday, we took an Uber for Whataburger:
Pretty chipper after a full day of racing.
We went to Rudy’s, a local barbecue chain, for dinner with friends Sunday night. Our driver that night said it was the best nearby option. He let you know there are better places out there, but within an easy Uber ride? This was the spot. And the food was great. The signage wasn’t bad, either.
