Myrna Loy is considered Montana's first lady of film. Her father, that state's youngest serving state legislator, died in the influenza pandemic of 1918 and the rest of the family moved to southern California. She was discovered by Natacha Rambova and her husband, Rudolph Valentino. She became a film legend.

She appeared in 129 movies, her last in 1981. Off the set, she worked for the Red Cross, supported the United Nations and was a UNESCO spokesperson. The performing arts center in Helena, Montana, is named in her honor. She passed away in 1993.

Max Factor met a sad end. He got a note that threatened his life while traveling in Europe, returned to California and died at 65 in 1938, the year after this book was first published and five years before this edition was released.
