This is the cover of the 1965 Glomerata, the yearbook of Auburn University. I showed this one off last week as a trio from the middle of the 1960s. The 1963 edition was very classical, staid, black leather, the simple interlocking AU in the lower right corner of the front corner. The 1964 was a violent explosion of parakeet innards. It is foolhardy to make conclusions about a time or place based on one book cover. Most people would probably say, “Welp, that’s 1964 for ya.”
But all that happened at Auburn a little bit later.
Anyway, the latest installment in the ongoing Glomerata section of the site are covers in the last half of the 1960s. Go here for the handsome 1966, 1967 and the regrettable 1969 cover. If you’re new to this, you can see all my covers here. Finally, you can find more details about select years on campus through their installments of the yearbook here.
