That's a beautiful car. And they knew it in 1954, which was part of why they were still talking about a 1951 model.

The Nash Statesman was produced between 1950 and 1956. The fastback aerodynamic styling was called Airflyte. You could get it as a two- or four-door sedan.

Those fender skirts look clunky, but the Nash was a bit shorter and narrower. The Light Six engine was based on a reliable 1920s design. The seats in the four-door could be converted to a bed.

Because it was light, it had good fuel efficiency ... supposedly 30 miles per gallon on the highway.
