Being a loom fixer is still a thing, but there are fewer of them here than abroad. They are, I'm sure, still highly skilled.

A lot of people in textiles were highly skilled. But there are fewer of those here now, too. I had family that worked in the textile industry. It was a reasonable career and it ended here about the time they were getting ready to retire, or not, about the time that the readers of this book would retire.
