I've never had solid Maple, Bassett, but what I have now was a steep upgrade from MDF board.

Bassett, founded in 1902, is still kicking. They have more than 100 storefronts in North America.

I bet you can still get that design. There just hasn't been a lot of change in handcrafted furniture since mid-century modern came onto the scene.
