{"id":573889618,"date":"2017-04-10T22:43:14","date_gmt":"2017-04-11T03:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/wordpress\/?p=573889618"},"modified":"2017-04-12T17:56:48","modified_gmt":"2017-04-12T22:56:48","slug":"conference-over-our-journey-ended-it-is-back-to-the-office-then","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/wordpress\/blog\/2017\/04\/10\/conference-over-our-journey-ended-it-is-back-to-the-office-then\/","title":{"rendered":"Conference over, it is back to campus, then"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got to chair one of the last sessions of the conference last weekend:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/photo\/apr17\/apr15.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, we had the opportunity to spend part of a beautiful spring day in a nice Greenville, South Carolina park:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/photo\/apr17\/apr16.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Spring, it seems, has appeared everywhere. Or the places which matter, which is to say the place I am at the moment:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/photo\/apr17\/apr17.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>We hung out at a waterfall:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/photo\/apr17\/apr18.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>We temporarily also solved a running problem:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/photo\/apr17\/apr19.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>And that means a delicious sandwich, the likes of which you just can&#8217;t do in Bloomington:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/photo\/apr17\/apr20.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>A friend of ours in Bloomington is from Georgia. He&#8217;s a big Publix guy, he knows our pain and he has assured us there is no reasonable substitute. That didn&#8217;t matter this weekend, though, because we got to have a picnic. <\/p>\n<p>Back to it today, though. I rode my bike to work, because weather and my schedule conspired to work together for a change. (Usually I have to stay past dark or it is raining or too cold or whatever. But, finally, a 5 p.m. Monday and nice weather mean I could spend my commute turning small circles with my feet. And I saw this:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kennysmith.org\/photo\/apr17\/apr21.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>They were pouring concrete. They were still on that site when I went back by later this evening. I imagine they got a lot done today. You better when you have a big concrete boom like that out there, I suppose. <\/p>\n<p>It is surprising you can&#8217;t really hear them.
