The only thing that would make this better would be this truck traveling under its own power, rather than being hauled.

Love the sea foam.

We were pleased, last fall, to see that Daylight Donuts was opening a satellite store near our home. It was a mile-and-a-half away. We could walk there and burn the calories.

I think we went three times.

Now it is closed. The Daylight guy, who is friendly and always ready to talk your ear off, put up a “Due to rising fuel and production costs” note. The landlord, right next to that, taped a “Due to failure to pay rent” note. You decide.

Only the signage and shelving remain. Very sad.

At least they still have the big store on the main road …

Big wheels get all of the glory and don’t often have to worry about road miles. And they captivate little boys.

On I-85 in Auburn.

I’d walked out back to admire the dogwood and found grass that needed to be cut. So I mowed the lawn and then glanced up in time to take this picture. Serendipity.

One of the historic live oaks at storied Toomer’s Corner in Auburn. The corner marks the place where town and campus meet and is where the community celebrates big moments together.

You might have heard that some disturbed individual poisoned the trees last fall. This spring will tell the experts a lot about the fate of the trees, but the latest news was grim.

No one knows how who planted them, but they are estimated at 130 years old.

Midway through the sunny, Sunday afternoon baseball game three helicopters swung by for a glimpse of the action.

Auburn won 2-0, claiming the series against Radford and improving to 5-2 on the young season.

My first game of the season. Beautiful February day. The game went 13 innings, but Auburn lost 8-6.
