The Pacemaker, awarded for excellence in student journalism, is considered the collegiate Pulitzer award.

At last count The Auburn Plainsman has an incredible 24 Pacemakers, dating from 1967 to the most recent in 2005. (The Glom's count, here, is apparently incorrect.) As far as I can tell that is the most of any college paper.

I had the humble honor of working on two staffs that earned Pacemakers.
