No genre, it seems, was overlooked in what turned out to be a good year for musical performances. For whatever reason the students were upset with what was offered up, most of the students a generation later would have gladly swapped shows.
John Denver was one of the guys that played Auburn's stage. The Glom notes that the audience was different for the show, more families and childrens than the usual University performance. It also felt like a cookout, which is probably how Denver liked things.
That, by the way, is a great shirt.
He was a multimedia pioneer, that John Denver, using three screens on the stage showing slides and movies. Mountains and country scenes no doubt dominated the view.
He walked off the stage with "I love you. Peace my friends."
They were very diligent about recording closing comments.
