This particular edition of the Glomerata had a photography staff that was overly fond of the posed pictures. They'd all look great if you scanned them for Facebook, but hardly work here. This, for example, is about as much action as you can get out of the cheerleader section of the yearbook.
Those sweaters were orange on blue, a classic look. Shame we ever got away from them. Also, if you look in the background it seems you can stare up into the boxes, meaning these cheerleaders were on the eastern side of Jordan-Hare. The boxes on the western side are mirrored to keep out the evening sun and prying eyes of any ongoing business deals.
This photograph was taken during the Iron Bowl, which Auburn won 31-27. She was the head cheerleader, a member of Who's Who and a member of the homecoming court. The guy in the background is now a personal trainer in Florida.
