Sarah Balogach on the bars for Auburn. She was a former USA National Team member, a freshman this season and had a nice career at Auburn.

I was one of the few freshmen on campus that year that knew all of the gymnasts. Pretty nice, right? A friend of mine was the team trainer and I had no problem being the extra guy at parties.

The Glomerata says the team finished with a 6-13 record. Auburn always managed to have strong individual competitors on the events but had a tough time making that translate into meet wins.

Some things never change.

Still, this Auburn team was ranked in the top 25 for most of the year, they set vault records and almost eclipsed a few other school marks. They would feature a sister act, Becky Balogach was a junior. The team finished with a regional top-10 ranking on vault, beam and all-around.
