Auburn would finish 3-6-2 in Shug Jordan's final year, including a disappointing tie in his last home game. Previously Jordan had never gone winless at home.

Almost 65,000 fans came to see him off, and all would agree they were losing a great coach.

Pretty much everything in this photograph has changed except for the AUburn uniforms, which show only minor tweaks in the modern form. The Misssissippi State look, spoiler of the final home game and the 1975 homecoming, is more vintage than recognizable for the untrained eye.

Also, pretty much every player on this field are likely too small and too slow to contribute much in the way of tangibles to either program in the 21st Century.
