These two photos share the opening page of the football section. A third photograph is also there, but it is a wide shot of people standing in line.

These two photographs, though, show the pride of Auburn's fanbase in the fall. As constant as a long offensive drive down the field are the armies of RVs. They're a bit bigger now, have a few more bells and whistles and satelitte dishes and flat screen televisions these days, but the RVers have always done it up in style.

I always enjoyed asking them what they do for a living because, clearly, I needed to change my major.

The other picture is a pleasant a moment as you can have. The joy before the battle, the giggles before the roar. Just as the defense is determined to get to the other quarterback, the Auburn fan is singularly intent on having a good time, and being a good host to others.

Yes, that is a candelabra. One can only guess what they were discussing, the details are lost to the happy memories of a few fans. The conversation itself has passed, but the feeling at an Auburn tailgate is constant.

Come to think of it, the picture of the people standing in line shows a big part of Auburn too.
