And this was the presentation of "Oklahoma!"
Tickets were sold out within six hours. No one knew what the wardrobe would look like.
But "Oklahoma!" is a great play, and the reviews here are full of praise. Curly gets a lot of attention, Ado Annie was the show stealer. Jud usually earns the biggest applause, but that's probably a hard role for a college student to play. The writer discusses the perfection of the costumes, which is probably more of an artifact of 1960s westerns than 1906 Oklahoma.
I haven't seen a student production of "Oklahoma!" but have seen a Tony award-winning rendition. The odds are good, though, that anything that comes through the theatre program at Auburn is worth seeing.
