Gospel composer Jester Hairston came to town in February and the University's Concert Choir performed 10 of his songs. A product of Julliard, he was also a successful actor, holding roles in "Amos and Andy," appeared in more than 20 movies and was in "That's My Mama" when he visited the Plain.

The world-renowned Vermeer Quartet brought their virtuoso talents to Telfair Peet for a free show.

You could have also caught a performance by the African Arts Ensemble during Black Heritage Week featuring ballet, poetry and music.
