She: shopping with her mother since she was 10, feels at home in a "foriegn" grocery store. She has "a carefully thought out list and moves from counter to counter with grace and confidence." She's cool, calm and collected -- because apparently bad things happened at the Piggly Wiggly if you lost your composure -- and had within a dollar of the exact change in her purse.

He: has no list, a scanty memory of what he's looking for and walks from corner to corner looking for something to throw in between slices of bread to call a meal. He doesn't have enough money and forgot his checkbook, sheepishly offering to replace a few items to the annoyance of his fellow shoppers.

He has two substantial grocery bags. She's double-fisting ice cream.
