This book wants to be very reflective. And poetic. There are also a lot of photographs stretched out across the page, hence that crease. Apparently the 1976 designers didn't understand the limitations of consumer scanners of the early 21st Century.
I've no idea where this is, it is rather curious given a lack of hills in Auburn, but found myself a little dismissive of the text included on this page, so we'll overlook it. Maybe they were just warming up, as things get better pretty quickly.
Meanwhile, the first big difference is this guy's shaggy hair. We didn't see that in the books from the early 1950s, but of course it has becoming an enduring trend. Fortunately the Paul Simon quotes have ran their course.
