At one time there were approximately 792 drug stores in historic downtown Auburn.
Those poor college kids must have been sick all the time to prop up that many businesses.
Wright was one of them, but already they were seeing the signs. There's more mention of makeup than drugs. And there's also the bus, in case you need to cruise back to your hometown for the weekend.
Also, they had what must have been one of the oldest telephones in town. Number nine. Where numbers one through eight are I can't yet say, but I do believe one of my older Glomeratas from the 1920s or 1930s has "Phone 5" in an ad.
Certainly would free up valuable airtime in commercials these days wouldn't it? "For all your pharmaceutical needs dial nine!"
