You'll have to forgive me a moment of sappy sentimentality.

This is the ad that brings the whole project home as an exercise of emotion and imagination rather than just one of history.

The Grille, readers will note, closed down in 2004, much to many people's laments. Oh the memories we all have of that place, meeting coaches, making friends, taking dates, a lifetime of memories. Everytime I think of the place it makes me smile for the spaghetti, the brownies, the photos on the wall and the booths. And, of course, it is sad to know all of that is gone.

And now, contemplating that, I recall the point of this Glomerata project. The 1953 edition would have been my grandfather's freshman yearbook had he attended Auburn. If he had, we could have sat in the same booths, maybe had the same meals. It is silly, but it just hit home. Cheesy, I know, but there it is.

We'll now continue.
