All of these local merchants have faded from the Auburn scene, but at least there's some nice doe eyes to see on this page.

as for the out-of-towners, Malone's seems to be no more in Columbus. Jessie French Pianos was formed in 1875, and the company lasted until the mid 1960s and surviving pianos from the company command high-dollar prices these days. The old car dealership in Montgomery, I believe, is now at the center of a satellite campus for Troy University.

Actually there are a few tidbits to take in as well. Young's Laundry was a prominent part of the Auburn landscape for many years, in fact in this photo from the Logue/Simms collection you can see part of their sign in this 1955 post-Georgia Tech celebration.

Haynie's was an Opelika landmark for decades and is now Cafe 123, a fine dining restaurant. I can find nothing on The Cub, however.
