This is the other picture that was grouped with the reverse angle of Samford Hall.

That's the '98 football team. The 1898 team. The program was already six years old at the time, going 2-1 under head coach John Heisman. The game certainly has changed.

Helmets, uniforms and everyone weighing more than 140 pounds would be among the most obvious differences.

What those young men must have been thinking about when they sat for this photograph. Surely they couldn't imagine a time 55 years later when it would be in another yearbook, or that it would appear online ("Whatever that is...") more than a century later.
