Ahhh, pushups behind Samford Hall, why I remember when ...

Actually I don't remember anything like that. These days that's a parking lot in between three buildings and a few others that didn't exist in 1953. These days the R.O.T.C.'s pushups are a little more discreet.

Those signs around their necks? Those are for organizations to which the students belong. Some of them denote their new status, others indicate someone of veteran position. This one, T.N.T., apparently didn't make it into the Glomerata.

Whatever the group was, it didn't exempt them from pushing the ground down in the familiar, repetitive fashion. Very persistent, that ground, it always needed pushing in those days.
