Had to blow this one up to make it fit, so that's why it is a bit grainy. My apologies.

Football coach Shug Jordan talks to the students at what looks like either a pep rally or a performance of the Auburn Knights -- one of the many concert bands that Auburn boasts -- or some other event.

I put this one here mostly because it is a little unusual to see the man outside of a strictly football context.

And also because I've always been fascinated by old microphones.

As we learned earlier, this was a year when the football team struggled, to say the least. It was Shug's second year on campus, and he had the conviction that things would get better. And he was right. They did. And soon.

We've no way of knowing when in the year, or specifically the football season, this conversation happened. He could have still been optimistic about this season, or he could have been asking them to just wait and see what he had in store for the upcoming seasons.

"Just wait, gang, until 1957 rolls around. You'll be highly impressed.
