Here's another one of those things that have been discarded. This is a shot from the Kappa Alpha fraternity, and the rest makes sense on that explanation alone.

Until the early 1990s the KA's still ran their Old South parade at Auburn. There were costumes, anachronisms and sometimes a general attitude that didn't fit into contemporary times.

It'd be great to ladies in those dresses again though.

What's that above the treeline in the center of the photograph? More aliens?

More likely that is the water tower just off the campus over by the old Kettle, or the water tower in place next to Pine Hill Cemetery, if there was a tower there during the 1950s. Of course, it all depends on where the photograph was taken and it is hard to discern context here.

Pine Hill Cemetery, incidentally, sits one block off campus and holds most of the old names you see in Auburn lore.
