Game, set and match!

The women's athletics always get mentioned last, but they persist with aplomb. And tan legs.

All the women's sports at the time were of the recreational nature. There are only three pictures here, one that looks something like volleyball, but with a disc. Another is just silly and then there's this.

Is it just me or does that net look like chain link?

In the background you can just make out Cliff Hare Stadium, modern day Jordan-Hare Stadium.

(And is that a blimp or a UFO above the stadium?)

Anyway, that puts the tennis court where the open-air aviary was located during my time on campus. As Tiger, the golden eagle mascot, got older they removed her from her home and kept her at the nearby Raptor Center. The aviary has stood unused since then, but that spot, this spot, will one day be the new student union.
