At one time, apparently, advertising belonged in the School of Architecture and the Arts. Yoda taught a class there. None of these students, the force have.

The name of the department should say something about the importance of Auburn's architecture program. Today it one of the nation's elite and stands alone, several blocks removed from those "& the Arts" people.

Biggin Hall houses the art students. It was brand new at the time, having been built in 1951. And judging from the 1952 Glom they were so extremely proud of the new addition.

During my time on campus the president's wife had huge ornamental trees and bushes planted in front of it to obscure the view. It was all rather scandalous. Not because she hid the building, but because of the cost. No one was really upset about the obscured view.

The display in front of the students says "Design: The Contemporary Living." They nailed that one. Those boxy cars would stick around for a generation and the pay phone has become a threatened species in only the last decade.
