The Glomerata staff recognized that rapid communication in wartime conditions would be a good thing. The Army understood that as well.
As laughable as the photograph looks now, this was high-tech equipment in 1952. API had for many years been on the forefront of communications technology when it came to military training, and the students in the '50s enjoyed that same reputation.
This gear was all gone by the time I arrived, of course, but I have worked in a radio station with panels that looked oddly familiar.
Is that an oscilloscope in the top right corner?
