This is Army Col. George Privett, and he would like you to stand at attention, and do it now.
Privett supervised the Army training at API. Two years of basic R.O.T.C was compulsory for all male students until the 1960s. Advanced training was competitively based on grades, leadership qualities and physical fitness. In the advanced course work students received monthly stipends.
The only exception were World War II veterans, who came to the Plains in droves after their military service, but that is from a different Glomerata.
Second year R.O.T.C work was specialized in fields like artillery, Corps of Engineers, Armor or the Signal Corps.
