This collage goes along with the sketch of the School of Home Economics.

Auburn has a child research department which is unique in that area parents have enrolled their children throughout their primary education and then the students have ultimately matriculated to Auburn. Seeing the children here reminds me of that, though there's no way to know if these kids were a part of that program. Probably shouldn't call them kids: they're a decade older than my folks.

Everything in these pictures looks very modern, the folks in Smith Hall sure knew how to develop the home economics program. Clothing and textiles was a major in that school, and until very recently that was a big component of the state's economy, so the modernity of the program is clearly stated.

Or maybe other technologies have outpaced the growth in home management? An oven, after all, is an oven. That's an oversimplification, of course, but that oven looks good. And I bet it still works.

Check out that baby to the bottom right. "Would you get that camera out of here? I've got things to do." And those nice young ladies in the center photograph should think about separating those boys. The picture is intended to highlight "clothes for rugged wear" but we're about to find out how rugged. The blond kid just made fun of the other boy's wingtips and it is so on.
