Here's Cliff Hare Stadium, with a 1951 seating capacity of 21,500, after a 1949 addition of 14,000 seats in what are the lower east stands.
It would be expand again in 1955 to 34,500, be renamed Jordan-Hare in 1973 and expanded seven more times to the current capacity of 87,451. There have long been talks of major expansions to close in the upper decks, but that is still on a very ambitious drawing board.
Looking to the north you see Petrie Hall just outside the stadium. It is still standing. Just to the rear of that is Miller Hall on the left, which now houses pharmacy and nursing and Thach Hall to the right, the present home of history and psychology. Both of these buildings are brand new in this picture.
