This is the photo collage from the College of Chemistry, which was prominently located in old Ross Hall. Those chemistry classes are scattered all over campus these days.

Chemistry was almost the end of me, so at least that much hasn't changed.

Note that top center photograph. That's the frosh lab. Those students are wearing Rat Caps which were common apparel for many universities' freshmen. Auburn's were orange with a blue A and a blue bill. They were wool and they were required wearing for the freshman, or something bad was undoubtedly going to happen, courtesy of an upperclassman. Up close they look like childrens hats, most all of them were written on. The student in the foreground has "Hey Hey" on the back of his Rat Cap.

The bottom left photo? I think I worked with that same equipment in the late 90s.

In the top right photograph the students are wearing uniforms, we'll come to that in a few pages.
