This is Jim Dillion. He broke several conference records in the discuss as a freshman, won every event as a sophomore discus thrower and almost swept the shot events as well.

The Glomerata accurately predicted that Dillion would represent the U.S. in the Olympics, where he medaled in the 1952 Helsinki Games in the discus, one of the first of many Auburn Olympians.

Dillion also won the NCAA championship in the discus as both a freshman and a senior in '51 and '54 and was later inducted into the Ohio Track and Cross Country Hall of Fame.
