All American Vince Dooley, running against Georgia.
Note the fancy plastic see-thru facemask.
He was considered one of the few bright spots on that day, but Vince Dooley has always been a bright spot. He coached at Auburn, went over to Georgia and created a tremendous career as a head coach and athletic director, briefly considered returning to Auburn in the 1980s, but he'd already become a respected legend at two rival schools. Not much else you can ask for.
Dooley was a two sport star at Auburn, he was also part of a young basketball team in the 1952 season, as we'll see in a few moments.
