Auburn has always had a reputation of being a charming and friendly campus. All the old literature is sure to mention it, as is the new. That friendliness created -- and is now promoted through -- the annual Hey Day event.

There's food, nametags and lots of waving. And there you have a built in excuse to say "Hey" to all the pretty girls.

These girls got waved at a lot.

If for no other reason alone you get a terrific tradition that emerged sometime during World War II.
