Inscription: Christmas tree - 1968

The most striking thing here is how the culture of Christmas trees have changed in the last generation, but it had all of the important family ornaments and that's what mattered to Mom.

And look! There! Under the tree! The Construct All 2000 set! Budding young engineers, failed architects and general contractors of the future all drooled over the prospect of building a 21st Century with the 2000 set. And now that box is ancient. How many buildings envisioned in the winters of the late 1960s were later built in the real world?

Look at the Construct All 2000 box online, boasting "The Safe All Plastic Construction Set." Already parents were tiring of pinched fingers. Plastics were in, and so was the trend of poor spelling: inside was the Riv-A-Matic Gun and the Power Pak.

Something else, too. Something called a remote control. Even then kids probably could intuitively use the thing. Parents were left scratching their heads. "What will they think of next year?"

Just the moon, and it would be beamed into your home. Kids would look up from the Construct All and suddenly that house would become a lunar colony.
