Generally speaking there are no headshots or studio portraits, but if people who look vaguely like celebrities don't deserve an exception I'm not sure who does.
So, for the sake of argument, we're going to say she bears a resemblance to Minnie Driver. Humor me.
She has this quiet elegance about her, with her eyes gazing at something that isn't the camera, and us 80 years on. That necklace is a curiousity. It is difficult to tell what it might be made of, but it seems out of place with that very stylish and plain outfit.
You find yourself wondering what kind of life this person led. Was it a hardscrabble, day-by-day battle or did she have it made on easy street? Was she a middle class mother living a perfectly normal and unadventurous life or was it full of one trauma after another?
Did she ever run out of bobby pins and other hair accessories, creating a style crisis?
How did she keep people from sneaking up on her left side?
